New York City FC

New York City Football Club (NYCFC) is an American professional soccer club based in New York City. Competing in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference, NYCFC was established on May 21, 2013, and began play in the 2015 MLS season. The club is co-owned by City Football Group and Yankee Global Enterprises. NYCFC has played its home games primarily at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, with additional matches held at Citi Field in Queens when necessary. The club has a strong rivalry with the New York Red Bulls, known as the Hudson River Derby. A new soccer-specific stadium is planned to open in 2027, located across the street from Citi Field.
