Atlanta United FC is an American professional soccer club based in Atlanta. The team competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Founded in 2014, Atlanta United began its MLS journey in 2017 as the league’s twenty-second team. The club plays its home games at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, shared with the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons. Owned by Arthur Blank, who also co-founded The Home Depot, Atlanta United quickly made its mark by winning the MLS Cup in 2018, just its second season. The team is known for setting high attendance records and, as of 2024, is one of the most valuable MLS franchises.
