FC Utrecht

Football Club Utrecht, commonly known as FC Utrecht, is a professional football club based in Utrecht, Netherlands. Established on July 1, 1970, through a merger of local clubs VV DOS, USV Elinkwijk, and Velox, FC Utrecht has become a notable competitor in Dutch football. The club plays its home matches at Stadion Galgenwaard, which holds a capacity of 23,750. FC Utrecht has won the KNVB Cup three times, in 1985, 2003, and 2004, and secured the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2004, making it the first club outside the traditional Dutch “Big Three” (Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord) to do so. Remarkably, Utrecht is the only club outside these giants to never have been relegated from the Eredivisie. They have participated in 15 European campaigns, with their best results being reaching the group stages of the UEFA Cup and UEFA Europa League.
