Founded in 1878, Everton has a rich history, being a founding member of the Football League in 1888. The club has competed in the top division for a record 122 seasons, making it the second-longest continuously present club in English top-flight football after Arsenal. Everton has won nine league titles, five FA Cups, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, and nine Charity Shields. Their home ground, Goodison Park, has been the club’s base since 1892, and they share a fierce rivalry with Liverpool FC in the Merseyside derby.
