West Ham United Football Club is a professional football club based in Stratford, East London. Founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks, the club was reformed as West Ham United in 1900. The team plays at the London Stadium, having moved from the Boleyn Ground in 2016, where they had resided for over a century. West Ham United has a rich history in English football, including three FA Cup victories (1964, 1975, and 1980) and success in European competitions, such as winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965 and the UEFA Europa Conference League in 2023. The club has spent 66 of its 98 seasons in the top flight, with a best-ever league finish of third in 1985–86. Known for its claret and sky blue colors, the club also boasts a strong rivalry with Millwall. West Ham is one of eight clubs that have never fallen below the second tier of English football.
