Celtic

Celtic Football Club is a prestigious professional football team based in Glasgow, Scotland. Competing in the Scottish Premiership, Celtic was founded in 1887 with the aim of alleviating poverty among the Irish–Scots community in Glasgow’s East End. Their first match, a friendly against Rangers, ended in a 5–2 victory. The club quickly established itself, winning six consecutive league titles in the early 20th century. The 1960s and 70s were particularly successful under manager Jock Stein, with nine consecutive league titles and the 1967 European Cup. Known for their green and white hoops, Celtic is one of only five clubs globally to have won over 100 trophies. Their accolades include 54 Scottish league titles, 42 Scottish Cups, and 21 Scottish League Cups. Celtic’s notable European performances include reaching the 1970 European Cup Final and the 2003 UEFA Cup Final.
