Braga

Sporting Clube de Braga, commonly known as Braga, is a prominent Portuguese sports club based in the city of Braga. Founded on January 19, 1921, the club has become well-known for its men’s football team, which competes in the Primeira Liga, the top tier of Portuguese football. Braga’s football team is nicknamed Os Arsenalistas (The Arsenalists) due to their red and white kits, which resemble those of English club Arsenal. The club has a wide range of other sporting departments, including athletics, futsal, esports, and volleyball. Braga’s home matches are held at the impressive Estádio Municipal de Braga, which has a capacity of 30,360. In recent years, the club has been partially owned by Qatar Sports Investments and Sundown Investments Limited, with President António Salvador leading the organization. Braga has consistently been one of the strongest teams outside Portugal’s “Big Three,” regularly challenging for top league positions and European competition.
