Thiago Silva, born on 22 September 1984, is a Brazilian footballer and Fluminense’s captain, known for his defensive prowess and leadership. Starting as a midfielder at RS Futebol, he transitioned to defense at Juventude before joining Porto in 2004. After a near-fatal tuberculosis bout, he moved to Fluminense, winning the Copa do Brasil in 2007. Silva joined AC Milan in 2009, winning Serie A. In 2012, he became the world’s most expensive defender, moving to PSG, where he won numerous titles. Silva joined Chelsea in 2020, winning the Champions League. Internationally, he’s earned over 110 caps for Brazil, winning the 2013 Confederations Cup and the 2019 Copa América.
