Wilson grew up in Dublin, Ohio, before moving to Austin, Texas, where he attended Lake Travis High School. At Lake Travis, he set multiple records, including most career receptions, yards, and touchdowns. Wilson was a five-star recruit and played in the 2019 All-American Bowl. He continued his football journey at Ohio State University, where he played from 2019 to 2021. During his college career, Wilson became one of the top wide receiver prospects, and in 2022, he was selected 10th overall by the New York Jets in the NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Wilson made an immediate impact, earning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Known for his speed, route running, and playmaking ability, he quickly became a star for the Jets.
