Enzo Jeremías Fernández (born 17 January 2001) is an Argentine midfielder for Chelsea and the Argentina national team. A versatile player, he excels as a central, defensive, or attacking midfielder. Emerging from River Plate’s academy, Fernández debuted in 2019, and had successful loan spells at Defensa y Justicia, winning the Copa Sudamericana and Recopa Sudamericana. Returning to River Plate, he helped secure the 2021 Argentine Primera División title. In 2022, he moved to Benfica, but joined Chelsea in January 2023 for a British-record fee. Internationally, Fernández was key in Argentina’s 2022 World Cup and 2024 Copa América victories, earning the Young Player Award.
