While ARC Raiders is heavily focused on high-octane offensive drives and securing premium loot, occasionally the game slows down the tempo for a lore-heavy possession. After you successfully complete the Straight Record quest, the trader Celeste will call your number for a solemn recovery mission: Keeping The Memory.
Your objective is simple on paper but requires precise field vision: travel to the Dam Battlegrounds, locate a fallen First Wave resistance soldier’s missing helmet, and restore it to a makeshift memorial.
Because you do not need to successfully extract to get credit for this completion, you can run this play with a free, bare-bones loadout without risking your franchise-tier gear. Here is your complete tactical breakdown for finding the helmet and clearing the quest in a single round.

The Play-by-Play: Running the Route
Phase 1: Establishing Field Position (The Wreckage)
Drop into the Dam Battlegrounds map. Your primary target zone is the Wreckage, a point of interest (POI) located in the southern sector of the map within the Formicai Hills.
Scouting Warning: This zone sees heavy traffic. It is a prime farming route for players looking to harvest mushrooms, so keep your head on a swivel for rival squads playing zone defense.
Phase 2: Recovering the Fumble (Finding the Helmet)
Once you reach the Wreckage, push to the absolute bottom of the POI. You are looking for a massive, destroyed Baron machine that has collapsed into the dirt.
The helmet is not sitting out in the open; it is heavily obscured. Look for a small, leafy bush or plant growing right in front of the dilapidated Baron chassis. The helmet (which shares the same design as the Velati outfit) is hidden inside this foliage. Simply walk up and interact with the spot to secure the package.

Phase 3: The Touchdown (Placing the Helmet)
With the helmet secured, you don’t have to run far to finish the drive. Look for a wooden pole sticking out of the ground nearby.
As you approach the memorial pole, a blue holographic prompt in the shape of a helmet will appear, signaling the drop zone. Interact with the prompt to place the helmet on the pole. The moment it clicks into place, the quest is officially complete.
Post-Game: The Extraction Defense
You have the option to log off or intentionally take a hit to end the run, as the quest is already logged. However, if you want to keep your momentum going and extract your newly found loot, call an audible and route northeast toward the Red Lakes Balcony Lift.
