New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans are a professional basketball team based in New Orleans, Louisiana, competing in the NBA’s Western Conference Southwest Division. The franchise was established in 2002 as the New Orleans Hornets, following the relocation of the Charlotte Hornets to New Orleans. In 2013, the team rebranded as the Pelicans, adopting a new name and logo inspired by the brown pelican, Louisiana’s state bird. The Pelicans play their home games at the Smoothie King Center. Known for their young talent and dynamic play, they have been led by standout players such as Anthony Davis and Zion Williamson.
