Los Angeles Chargers are a professional American football team based in the Greater Los Angeles area. Competing in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the American Football Conference (AFC) West division, the team shares SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, with the Los Angeles Rams. The Chargers were founded in 1959 and began play in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL). The team played its inaugural season in Los Angeles but relocated to San Diego in 1961, becoming the San Diego Chargers. In 2017, the team moved back to Los Angeles. Over the years, the Chargers have experienced significant success, including multiple division championships and playoff appearances. The team has been known for its explosive offense and tough defenses. Today, under the leadership of owner Dean Spanos, general manager Joe Hortiz, and head coach Jim Harbaugh, the Chargers continue to strive for NFL glory.
