LA Galaxy

Los Angeles Galaxy is a prominent American professional men’s soccer club based in Los Angeles. Competing in Major League Soccer (MLS) as part of the Western Conference, the Galaxy were established in 1994 and began play in 1996 as one of the league’s charter members. Initially playing at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, they have called Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson their home since 2003. Owned by Anschutz Entertainment Group, which also owns the Los Angeles Kings and holds an interest in the Los Angeles Lakers, the Galaxy are known for their historic rivalries. They engage in the California Clásico with the San Jose Earthquakes and, since the dissolution of Chivas USA in 2014, have a fierce new rivalry with Los Angeles FC, known as “El Tráfico.” The Galaxy have a storied history, including a record five MLS Cups and numerous other titles. However, in 2017, they faced a rare setback, finishing last in the league and earning the MLS Wooden Spoon.
