Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, are an NBA team competing in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. Originally founded as an expansion team in 1988, the franchise relocated to New Orleans in 2002, becoming the Pelicans in 2013. The Charlotte Bobcats emerged in 2004, with Michael Jordan acquiring majority ownership in 2010. In 2014, the Bobcats reclaimed the Hornets name and legacy. In 2023, Jordan sold his majority stake to investors Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall but retained a minority share. The team plays its home games at the Spectrum Center
