The Toronto Blue Jays are Canada’s only Major League Baseball team, competing in the American League East Division. Established in 1977, the team plays home games at Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto. Their name, chosen from over 4,000 suggestions, reflects Toronto’s traditional blue sports colors and was partly inspired by original owners Labatt Brewing, known for Labatt Blue beer. Nicknamed “the Jays,” the team sports royal blue, navy, red, and white. A symbol of Canadian pride, the Blue Jays clinched back-to-back World Series titles in 1992 and 1993, making them the only Canadian team to achieve this feat.
