Saquon Barkley is an American professional football running back for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. Born on February 9, 1997, in The Bronx, New York, he played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions. Barkley was highly decorated in college, setting numerous school records for rushing and all-purpose yards, and finishing as a finalist for the Heisman Trophy in 2017. He was drafted second overall by the New York Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft. After an impressive rookie season that earned him Pro Bowl honors and the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, Barkley struggled with injuries in the following seasons but returned to form in 2022. As of 2024, he plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.
