Nicolas Batum, born on December 14, 1988, in Lisieux, France, is a professional basketball player known for his versatility and defensive prowess. Standing 6 feet 8 inches tall, Batum primarily plays as a small forward but can also excel as a shooting guard. He began his professional career in France before moving to the NBA, where he was selected by the Houston Rockets in the 2008 NBA Draft (25th pick overall) but was quickly traded to the Portland Trail Blazers. Batum is celebrated for his defensive skills, three-point shooting, and playmaking ability. Over his career, he has played for several NBA teams, including the Portland Trail Blazers, Charlotte Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, and he has represented France in international competitions, winning medals at the Olympics and World Championships.
