Gerard Piqué Bernabeu (born 2 February 1987) is a retired Spanish footballer from Catalonia, regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation. He began his professional career with Manchester United in 2004 after rising through Barcelona’s La Masia academy. In 2008, Piqué returned to Barcelona, where he won two trebles in 2008–09 and 2014–15. Over 616 matches for the club, he secured 31 major titles, including nine La Liga and three UEFA Champions League trophies. Notably, he is one of four players to win the Champions League consecutively with different teams. Piqué earned 102 caps for Spain, playing key roles in their 2010 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2012 victories. He retired from international football after the 2018 World Cup.
