Evgeni Malkin, born July 31, 1986, is a Russian professional ice hockey centre and alternate captain for the Pittsburgh Penguins in the NHL. Known as “Geno,” Malkin is renowned for his dynamic playmaking, size, and scoring ability. He started his career with Metallurg Magnitogorsk in Russia before being drafted second overall by the Penguins in 2004. His NHL debut in 2006 was delayed due to a transfer dispute, but Malkin quickly became a star, winning multiple awards, including the Hart Trophy (MVP) and Art Ross Trophy (scoring leader).
