Darwin Gabriel Núñez Ribeiro (born 24 June 1999) is a Uruguayan forward who plays for Liverpool and the Uruguay national team. Originating from Peñarol’s youth academy, he debuted with the first team in 2017. Núñez moved to Almería in 2019 for a record fee, and later signed with Benfica in 2020 for €24 million, a record for Portuguese football. At Benfica, he excelled, winning the Bola de Prata with 26 goals in 28 games and earning Player of the Year honors. Liverpool acquired him in 2022 for €75 million. Núñez has represented Uruguay at the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Copa América.
