Cristian Gabriel “Cuti” Romero (born 27 April 1998) is an Argentine centre-back who plays for Tottenham Hotspur and the Argentina national team. Emerging from Belgrano’s youth system, he debuted in 2016 and quickly attracted attention. Romero moved to Serie A in 2018 with Genoa, then Juventus, before excelling on loan at Atalanta, where he was named Serie A’s Best Defender for the 2020–21 season. Tottenham secured him on loan in 2021, making his transfer permanent in 2022. Internationally, he has been pivotal in Argentina’s victories at the 2021 Copa América, 2022 FIFA World Cup, and 2024 Copa América.
