Fans of Premier League giants Manchester United have again found themselves at the centre of an unusual accusation this week after reportedly raising AI-generated banners at The Stretford End, sparking mixed reactions on social media.
The AI banners were spotted during the Red Devils’ 4-2 home win against Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, 25 October 2025, which was also Ruben Amorim’s third successive victory during his United tenure. Goals from Bryan Mbeumo and others helped United move within six points of the Premier League top.
However, after the game, the attention of the fans worldwide shifted to the stands at Stretford End, where fans were reportedly waving vibrant red United banners made by AI.

The post has now attracted many views, which has sparked an intense online discussion. While some praised the impact of the banners, others criticised the use of AI in a space traditionally reserved for fan-made art.
Here are some fan reactions:
“It was needed”. one fan said.
“What difference does it make how they’re made you div? It’s how they look and they look great. Stop trying so hard,” a fan claimed.
“I don’t understand why one fans actions is a reflection on the premier league as a whole?
Looks like a fifa crowd with the AI banners,” another fan said.
“Bro I am begging you. Please let me help you with the banners. I am a graphic artist. We need the Stratford End to look immaculate”. No AI, a fan said.
“AI banners no way”, stated another.
Critics argue that relying on AI-generated designs undermines the authenticity and passion that have long defined football fan culture. Despite the backlash, the Manchester United players have reportedly shown appreciation for the effort made by fans. However, it can’t be confirmed if they were aware of the origins of the artwork.
With three wins and a draw, Manchester United will now focus on maintaining their momentum when they face Spurs on November 8, 2025.
