Luka Doncic pulls up in $2 million Rimac Nevera supercar for his first on-court appearance since the NBA playoffs

Just weeks after taking the basketball world by storm with his revamped physique, Luka Doncic is now at the centre of social media attention for his supercar. Doncic arrived at the Stožice Arena in Ljubljana for the Slovenia-Germany friendly clash in a $2 million Rimac Nevera.

Understandably, Doncic’s vehicle received extra attention from the pedestrians, who got a few clicks of the Croatian electric hypercar. Additionally, social media users also lauded the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for his choice.

Doncic shows off his new purchase merely days after signing a three-year, $165 million contract extension with the Purple and Gold.

Luka Doncic will now participate in his first game since the Lakers‘ opening-round exit in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Despite Doncic’s 30.2 ppg, 7 rpg and 5.8 apg performance, the Lakers suffered a 4-1 gentleman’s sweep at the hands of Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Luka Doncic aims for a medal at the 2025 EuroBasket

Since Luka Doncic joined the Slovenian national team, he has undeniably raised the team’s level. Yet, the team longs for a podium finish. However, Doncic believes this wait could finally be over at the 2025 EuroBasket.

“Our goal is always a medal,” Doncic asaid. “But I am not the only leader. I have the feeling that others also have a say. If you have only one leader on the team, you will not get anything done. You have to have several leaders.”

Slovenia’s EuroBasket journey will begin with a warm-up game against reigning world champions Germany. Doncic is expected to suit up for the match, but he’s uncertain about how much time he’ll spend on the court.

“I don’t know. I don’t think I will play the entire match,” he said. “It all depends on the game and other things. Now, for the first time in the preparation period, I played five-on-five at the national team training. I feel good.”

Before opening their EuroBasket campaign against Poland, Slovenia will play five more preparatory games. In addition to tonight’s meeting with Germany, they will host Latvia on August 16. The other matchups include contests against Germany, Lithuania, Great Britain, and Serbia.
