Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors, founded in 1995, are Canada’s sole NBA team, competing in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division. Playing at Scotiabank Arena, the Raptors rose from early struggles to prominence with Vince Carter, leading to their first playoff series win in 2001. Chris Bosh’s leadership later spurred another playoff appearance in 2007. The arrival of Masai Ujiri in 2013 marked a new era, highlighted by DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry’s contributions. The pinnacle came in 2019, when the Raptors, under coach Nick Nurse, clinched their first NBA championship. Following Leonard and Lowry’s departures, Pascal Siakam’s trade in 2024 made way for Scottie Barnes as the franchise’s new star.
