The Portland Fire were a professional women’s basketball team based in Portland, Oregon, competing in the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). Established in 2000 as an expansion team, the Fire played their home games at the Rose Garden (now known as Moda Center). Although they enjoyed some success, including a playoff appearance in their inaugural season, the team faced challenges and was eventually disbanded in 2002 after just three seasons. The Fire were known for their competitive spirit and strong local fan base.
