Olympique Lyonnais, commonly known as Lyon or OL, is a prominent French football club based in Lyon, founded in 1950. Competing in Ligue 1, Lyon became a powerhouse in the early 2000s, winning a record seven consecutive Ligue 1 titles from 2002 to 2008. The club has also claimed eight Trophées des Champions, five Coupes de France, and three Ligue 2 titles. Lyon has a strong European presence, reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in 2010 and 2020. The team plays at the 59,186-seat Parc Olympique Lyonnais and has a fierce rivalry with Saint-Étienne in the Derby Rhône-Alpes.
