The New Jersey Devils, based in Newark, New Jersey, are a professional ice hockey team in the NHL’s Metropolitan Division. Established as the Kansas City Scouts in 1974, the team underwent relocations to Denver and later East Rutherford, New Jersey, adopting their current name in 1982, inspired by the mythical Jersey Devil.
