Memphis Depay, born 13 February 1994, is a Dutch footballer known for his role as a forward. Starting his professional career at PSV Eindhoven, he scored 49 goals in 124 games and won the Eredivisie’s top scorer award in the 2014–15 season. This performance earned him the Dutch Footballer of the Year award and recognition as the “Best Young Player” by France Football. In June 2015, he moved to Manchester United but struggled, leading to a transfer to Lyon in January 2017. After five successful seasons, he joined Barcelona in 2021 on a free transfer. Depay has also made significant contributions to the Netherlands national team, including a third-place finish at the 2014 FIFA World Cup and appearances in UEFA Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, and Euro 2024. Currently a free agent, he remains a prominent figure in international football.
