Matthew Kent Olson, born on March 29, 1994, is an accomplished American first baseman for the Atlanta Braves in Major League Baseball (MLB). Drafted in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics, he debuted in 2016. After six successful seasons with Oakland, Olson joined the Braves before the 2022 season, securing an eight-year contract extension. Known for his exceptional defensive skills, he has won two Gold Glove Awards and four Fielding Bible Awards. A formidable hitter, Olson earned a Silver Slugger Award and was selected as an MLB All-Star in 2021 and 2023, showcasing his all-around talent.
