Marat Safin, born January 27, 1980, is a retired Russian tennis player and former world No. 1. Known as the “Safinator,” he reached the top ATP singles ranking in November 2000, becoming the youngest player at the time to do so. Safin won two Grand Slam titles: the 2000 US Open and the 2005 Australian Open. He also contributed to Russia’s Davis Cup victories in 2002 and 2006.
