Born on August 19, 1988, in Barrington, Illinois, he played college football for the Michigan State Spartans and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Cousins spent his early career as a backup before taking over as the starting quarterback in 2015, leading Washington to a division title.
