Kirk Cousins is an American professional football quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. Born on August 19, 1988, in Barrington, Illinois, he played college football for the Michigan State Spartans and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Cousins spent his early career as a backup before taking over as the starting quarterback in 2015, leading Washington to a division title. He set multiple franchise records with the Redskins and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2017. After a contentious contract situation, Cousins signed a fully guaranteed three-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings in 2018. Known for his accuracy, Cousins ranks fifth all-time in NFL completion percentage and eighth in passer rating among players with at least 1,500 pass attempts.
