Jared Goff is an American professional football quarterback for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. Born on October 14, 1994, in Novato, California, Goff played college football at the University of California, where he set numerous records in the Pac-12 Conference. He was selected first overall in the 2016 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams, and quickly became their starting quarterback. Goff’s breakout season came in 2017, when he led the Rams to their first playoff appearance since 2004. In 2018, he guided the Rams to Super Bowl LIII, earning Pro Bowl honors in both 2017 and 2018. In 2021, Goff was traded to the Detroit Lions, where he played a key role in revitalizing the team’s offense. In 2023, Goff helped the Lions reach the playoffs and break a long-standing playoff win drought.
