Dominic Thiem, born on September 3, 1993, is an Austrian former professional tennis player who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 3 in March 2020. Known for his powerful baseline game, Thiem won 17 ATP singles titles, highlighted by his 2020 US Open victory, where he became the first male player born in the 1990s to win a Grand Slam, defeating Alexander Zverev in a remarkable comeback. Thiem was also the first Austrian to win the US Open. He reached three other Grand Slam finals, twice at the French Open and once at the Australian Open, and was twice the runner-up at the ATP Finals.
