Chris Weidman, born June 17, 1984, is an accomplished American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC’s Middleweight division. A skilled wrestler, he earned two NJCAA and two NCAA All-American titles during his amateur career. Transitioning to MMA in 2008, Weidman joined the UFC in 2011 and rapidly built a 9-0 record. His career reached a turning point in 2013 when he defeated Anderson Silva, ending Silva’s record-breaking 16-fight winning streak to claim the UFC Middleweight Championship. Weidman held the title for over two years, successfully defending it three times, and remains a highly respected figure in the sport.
