Anthony Edwards is an American professional basketball player born on August 5, 2001, in Atlanta, Georgia. Known as “Ant-Man,” he plays as a shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA. Selected first overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, Edwards quickly established himself as a star, earning All-Star honors in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. He had a stellar college career at the University of Georgia, where he was named SEC Freshman of the Year. In addition to his NBA success, Edwards won a gold medal with the U.S. Olympic team in 2024, solidifying his status as one of basketball’s rising stars.
